Pishin: Pakistan’s security forces successfully foiled a major terrorist attack in Pishin district, Balochistan, during a targeted intelligence-based operation (IBO). Five terrorists were killed in an exchange of fire, preventing planned attacks on the Police Lines and Cadet College, officials confirmed.
According to security sources, law enforcement agencies received credible intelligence that members of a banned terrorist group were preparing coordinated attacks on sensitive installations in Pishin. The suspects were reportedly hiding in a house near Cadet College, where they were finalizing their plans.
Acting swiftly on the intelligence tip-off, security forces cordoned off the area and launched a targeted operation. The militants opened indiscriminate fire upon seeing the advancing troops, leading to a heavy gun battle that lasted nearly an hour. All five militants were killed during the exchange.
A subsequent search of the premises led to the recovery of a large cache of weapons, explosives, hand grenades, and detailed maps of key locations in Pishin, indicating preparations for large-scale terrorist attacks. The bodies were shifted to a hospital for post-mortem examination.
Security officials stated that the slain militants were allegedly involved in previous attacks on security forces, police personnel, and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) officials. Their elimination is being seen as a significant blow to the terrorist network operating in the region and a major step toward improving security in Balochistan.
Notably, no security personnel were harmed during the operation, reflecting the forces’ preparedness and professional execution of the mission.
Senior officials of Balochistan Police praised the successful counter-terrorism operation and emphasized that public cooperation remains crucial in eliminating terrorism from the region. Additional search operations are ongoing to ensure no remaining suspects escape.
The successful operation marks an important development in ongoing counter-terrorism efforts in Balochistan, where security forces continue their mission to restore lasting peace and stability.
