News Desk: At least six people lost their lives in a deadly armed assault in the Dastak area of Panjgur, where attackers also set two vehicles on fire, police said on Monday.

Officials stated that the incident occurred in the Chaidagi–Dastak locality, approximately 60 kilometres from Panjgur city. Unknown assailants carried out the attack and fled before law enforcement arrived. Police teams reached the scene shortly after the incident and began collecting evidence.

The cause and motive behind the attack remain unclear. A search operation has been launched in the surrounding areas to track down those responsible, police added.

Two of the victims have been identified as Dawood, son of Awaiz, and Jan Salim, son of Haji Faiz Muhammad, residents of the border village of Nagar. The identities of the remaining four deceased had not been confirmed at the time of reporting.

Authorities said investigations are underway, and more details are expected as the situation develops.
