News Desk: Briefing the media after the cabinet meeting, Shahid Rind said the Balochistan cabinet had approved the procurement of 0.50 million metric tons of wheat to ensure food security across the province. He said the cabinet took serious notice of irregularities in government wheat management and decided to constitute a parliamentary sub-committee to investigate the matter. Clear directions were issued for action against all officials found involved in corruption, without discrimination.

The 23rd meeting of the provincial cabinet, chaired by Mir Sarfraz Bugti, also reviewed the law and order situation and condemned the terrorist incidents of January 31. The cabinet paid tribute to the martyrs and expressed solidarity with the affected families, while reaffirming its resolve, in coordination with security forces, to eliminate terrorism from the province.

Shahid Rind said the cabinet approved a Climate Smart Agriculture project aimed at efficient water use and improved agricultural productivity. It also endorsed the Balochistan Land Lease Policy 2026, which is expected to attract investment and create new employment opportunities.

He said funds were approved for the payment of salaries to employees of the Balochistan Development Authority, and a decision was taken to reorganize autonomous institutions to enhance performance and accountability.

The cabinet also approved the Balochistan Public-Private Partnership Act 2025 and the Levies Force Amendment Bill 2025. To further strengthen security, particularly on national highways, the Balochistan Police was directed to improve security arrangements and submit a detailed report within seven days.

Concluding the briefing, Shahid Rind said the provincial government would continue implementing practical measures to ensure peace, economic stability, and institutional reforms across Balochistan.
