Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP) Chief, Mehmood Khan Achakzai on Monday called for supremacy of parliament and constitution to make Pakistan a strong democratic country. Addressing a press conference at his residence in Quetta, he urged upon all political parties to join hands to strengthen democratic institutions in the country.
“All institutions should function within the constitutional framework”, the seasoned politician mentioned. He said his party was committed to upholding the banner of democracy and rule of law in the country for this purpose it will continue its struggle.
If implementation of constitution was on the agenda of All Parties Conference (APC) of Maulana Fazal ur Rehman, then, I will participate, Mr. Achakzai responded when asked about the proposed APC. He said the political parties should bury the hatchet and join hands for a strong democratic Pakistan in the commit of nations.
The PKAMP Chief called for the opening of the Pak-Afghan border Chaman and condemned the use of force against the people. Let the people do their business and earn daily bread for their children, the senior parliamentarian stated.
“We should not expect any mercy from India since she is an enemy”, he said, advising the government not to provide space to the enemy to provoke our own masses. He said the grievances of the masses, especially whose jobs have been affected at Pak-Afghan border Chaman should be addressed.
