QUETTA: Unofficial and unconfirmed results from the PB-36 Kalat constituency indicate that Mir Ziaullah Langove of the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) has taken the lead following re-polling at seven polling stations ordered by the election tribunal.

According to preliminary vote counts circulating after the re-polling process, Langove has secured 14,281 votes, while his opponent Sardar Syed Saeed Langove from the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) (JUI-F) has received 11,064 votes. Election officials have not yet issued the final official result, and the figures currently being shared remain unofficial.

Mir Ziaullah Langove is a prominent political figure in Balochistan and previously served as the provincial Home Minister during the tenure of former Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan. He was also elected as a member of the Balochistan Assembly in the February 8, 2024 general elections from the same constituency.

His earlier victory was challenged by JUI-F candidate Sardar Syed Saeed Langove, who filed a petition before the Election Tribunal of the Balochistan High Court, alleging irregularities in the electoral process. Following legal proceedings, the tribunal ordered re-polling at seven polling stations in PB-36 Kalat.

Reacting to the emerging unofficial results, JUI-F leaders rejected the reported outcome, calling it unacceptable and unfair to the voters of Kalat. Party representatives stated that they would continue to pursue the matter through legal and constitutional avenues.

The Election Commission of Pakistan is expected to announce the final verified results after completing the official vote consolidation process. Until then, the reported figures remain preliminary and subject to confirmation.
