The district administration Quetta confiscated toy guns during raids in various parts of the city on the eve of Eid ul Azha. The administration handed over books to children carrying toy guns and pistols, Humaira Baloch, the Assistant Commissioner Saddar, Quetta tweeted. Images uploaded on her Twitter account shows toy pistols being taken and books being handed over to children in the suburbs of the city.
Raids were conducted in different parts of the Saddar area on the occasion of Eid. The Deputy Commissioner Quetta, Major (R) Aurangzaib Badini had imposed a ban on sale and purchase of toy guns in the city on the eve of Eid.
This decision was made with an objective to discourage weapons and gun culture in society. Similarly, deputy commissioners of other districts had also imposed a ban on sale and purchase of toy guns to discourage the culture. It has been witnessed during the last few years that the sale and purchase of toy guns have increased in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan on the occasion of Eid.
Earlier, the children used to buy toy trucks, vehicles and other things. In rural Balochistan, children carrying toy guns and pistols pointing to each other can be seen.
