The Election Commission of Pakistan has postponed the by-election in NA-256 Khuzdar.

According to an official notification issued from Islamabad, the decision was taken following a request from the provincial government of Balochistan due to the prevailing law and order situation in the constituency.

The by-election, originally scheduled for April 5, 2026, has been suspended until further notice.

The Commission has directed the Chief Secretary and Inspector General of Police Balochistan to appear in person and brief it on the current security situation.

A revised election schedule will be announced after reviewing the law and order conditions in the area.
