News Desk:Â In a major step to support the creative sector, the Government of Balochistan has announced an increase in the Artists Welfare Endowment Fund, with plans to gradually double its size to strengthen financial assistance for artists.
The decision was made during a meeting between Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti and a delegation of artists, where challenges faced by the community and policy measures for their welfare were reviewed.

Addressing the delegation, the chief minister said the government is committed to promoting arts and culture in Balochistan through practical and sustained initiatives. He highlighted that the province’s rich cultural heritage represents peace, diversity, and tolerance, and artists play a key role in shaping and projecting this narrative.
He urged artists to actively use their creative platforms to present Balochistan’s positive identity to the world, countering negative perceptions and showcasing the province as a hub of culture and harmony.
Referring to the legacy of PTV Quetta Centre, he noted that past productions had earned recognition for Balochistan at national and international levels. He stressed the need to revive high-quality, value-driven content to promote the province’s cultural image globally.
