Qaseem Shah, News Desk:

QUETTA: A tense political situation is unfolding in Quetta, where Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) (JUI-F) has announced a complete boycott of all Balochistan government activities, including visits to the Chief Minister’s House and participation in official events.

Speaking to the media, provincial JUI-F chief Maulana Abdul Wasey, along with Senator Kamran Murtaza, made it clear that party members will stay away from all government functions until further notice. The move shows a clear breakdown in relations between the party and the provincial government.

At the center of the dispute is the issue of madrassa registration, which JUI-F leaders say is a “red line” for them. Maulana Abdul Wasey accused the government of crossing that line and putting pressure on religious seminaries without proper legal cover. He warned that the party is ready to respond strongly if the situation continues.

The JUI-F leadership has also demanded an apology from Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti. According to Maulana Abdul Wasey, if the apology is not made by the 2nd of the month, the matter will move to the streets, signaling possible protests across the province.

The party has called an important meeting on the 2nd, where it is expected to decide its next steps, including a possible protest movement against the Madrassa-related policies and the Mines and Minerals legislation.

With both sides taking firm positions, the situation is becoming increasingly serious, and the coming days will be crucial in determining whether tensions ease or turn into a larger political confrontation.
