TURBAT: The University of Turbat (UoT) joined universities across Balochistan in observing a Black Day and organizing a protest walk against the disappearance of Gwadar University Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir, Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Syed Manzoor Ahmed, Lecturer Dr. Irshad Baloch, and their driver, Hatim.
The protest brought together faculty members and administrative staff who called for the immediate, safe, and dignified release of the missing individuals. Participants urged the government and relevant authorities to take urgent measures to ensure their recovery and return to their families.
Addressing the gathering, speakers highlighted the growing concern among family members, students, academics, and the wider community over the disappearance of the senior educationists. They noted that such incidents not only create uncertainty within academic institutions but also pose serious challenges to the advancement of higher education in Balochistan.
The participants praised the significant contributions of Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir, Dr. Syed Manzoor Ahmed, and Dr. Irshad Baloch toward strengthening higher education, research, and academic excellence in the province. They described their services to the education sector as invaluable and lasting.
The protest concluded with a renewed expression of solidarity with the affected families. Participants reiterated their appeal for the immediate and safe recovery of the missing academics and their driver, emphasizing the need for humanitarian consideration and swift action from the concerned authorities.
