Web Desk: The Pakistan Army on Thursday honoured its martyrs, decorated officers and soldiers with military awards for exceptional gallantry and distinguished service during an investiture ceremony held at the General Headquarters (GHQ), Rawalpindi.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Staff, conferred 50 Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and 12 Tamgha-i-Basalat awards on serving personnel and the families of martyrs. Posthumous medals were received with honour by the families of fallen soldiers.

Addressing the ceremony, the Field Marshal paid tribute to the martyrs and veterans, describing them as the enduring pride of the nation. He said Pakistan’s peace and security were secured through their supreme sacrifices and unwavering commitment to duty, adding that their legacy remained a sacred trust for every citizen.

He also praised the courage, dignity and resilience of the families of martyrs, acknowledging their unparalleled sacrifices and steadfast devotion to the homeland.

The Field Marshal further commended the operational preparedness of the Pakistan Army and law enforcement agencies, lauding their continued efforts against terrorism. Reaffirming the nation’s resolve, he said the fight against terrorism would continue with full determination until lasting peace and stability are achieved across the country.
