News Desk: The Balochistan government has suspended 23 doctors and issued show-cause notices to 25 health officials over alleged violations of service regulations, unauthorized activities, participation in strikes, and breaches of departmental discipline.
According to Balochistan Chief Minister’s Adviser for Political and Media Affairs Shahid Rind, the action was taken to ensure uninterrupted healthcare services and maintain discipline within public health institutions.
He said judicial directives clearly prohibit strikes and closures in sectors directly linked to public health and human lives, stressing that disruption of essential medical services cannot be allowed under any circumstances.
In a separate move, the registrations of five trainee doctors enrolled in postgraduate training programs have also been suspended. Formal inquiries have been initiated to determine their role in activities deemed contrary to departmental rules.
Shahid Rind stated that all government-run healthcare facilities across Balochistan will continue to operate normally. Employees absent from essential duties without authorization may face disciplinary proceedings under relevant service regulations.
To address concerns raised by the medical community, the provincial government has established a high-level committee to review the security environment at healthcare institutions. The committee will comprise senior government officials, experienced doctors, representatives of the Health Department, and security authorities.
He emphasized that the healthcare sector is a critical public service and that any action affecting patient care or violating official procedures would be dealt with in accordance with the law.
The adviser added that while the government remains committed to resolving the legitimate concerns of doctors and improving healthcare delivery, adherence to legal and administrative frameworks remains mandatory.
He further assured that all ongoing investigations would be conducted transparently and impartially to establish facts and determine responsibility.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to reform, Shahid Rind said efforts are underway to strengthen institutional governance, improve accountability, and enhance the quality of healthcare services across Balochistan.
