News Desk: A man was killed in a motorcycle-borne improvised explosive device (IED) explosion in Ormara, a coastal town in Gwadar district, prompting a security investigation into the deadly incident.

According to local police, the victim, identified as Raja, hailed from the Makola area of Pasni tehsil. He had reportedly arrived in Ormara on Wednesday night and was staying at a guesthouse near the residence of local religious scholar Syed Muheem Jan.

Officials said the explosion occurred early Thursday morning when Raja attempted to start his motorcycle before leaving the area. The vehicle detonated instantly, causing fatal injuries and killing him at the scene.

Following the blast, police and Pakistan Navy personnel rushed to the location, sealed off the area, and initiated a forensic examination. Security officials collected evidence from the site and launched an investigation to determine how the explosive device was attached to the motorcycle and who was behind the attack.

Authorities have yet to establish a motive, while investigators are exploring multiple angles, including whether the victim was specifically targeted. No organization has claimed responsibility for the explosion so far.

The incident has heightened security concerns in Gwadar district, where law enforcement agencies continue efforts to counter militant violence and safeguard residents in coastal areas of Balochistan.
