TURBAT: Police in Balochistan’s Makran Range have detained 28 undocumented Afghan nationals during a routine security check at the Hironk Checkpost in Kech district, officials said on Monday.
According to a statement issued by Kech Police, officers stopped a passenger van for a routine inspection and carried out a thorough verification of all passengers on board.
During the verification process, police found that 28 Afghan nationals were travelling without valid travel or residency documents. The group was immediately taken into custody.
The detained individuals include 14 men, eight women, and six children, the police statement said.
Authorities have shifted all detainees to the relevant police station, where legal formalities are being completed. Police said further action will be taken in accordance with Pakistan’s immigration and applicable laws.
Security checks have been intensified at key entry and transit points across Balochistan as part of ongoing efforts to identify undocumented foreign nationals and ensure compliance with immigration regulations.
