QUETTA — Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Ahmed Bugti revealed plans on Tuesday for a major global calligraphy showcase titled “Bayan-ul-Marsoos”, scheduled to take place in Quetta on May 9–10 next year. Fully sponsored by the provincial government, the multi-day event will bring together celebrated artists and calligraphers from Turkey and across the Islamic world.
​Inaugurating the “Rasool-e-Rahmat (PBUH)” art exhibition, Bugti noted that staging high-profile cultural gatherings during the nation’s independence month underscores Balochistan’s administrative capacity, peaceful spirit, and deep-rooted reverence for Islamic calligraphic traditions. The upcoming international event will be hosted at the Serena Hotel in partnership with renowned calligrapher Wasil Shahid to project a positive, culturally rich image of Quetta to the global community.
​On international and defense affairs, the Chief Minister pointed to Pakistan’s rising diplomatic footprint, highlighting expanding security ties between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey. He clarified that this trilateral defense cooperation is strictly defensive, intended to safeguard regional peace rather than fuel aggression.
​Commending the efforts of President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and military leadership in enhancing the country’s international standing, Bugti asserted that no external force can derail Pakistan’s path toward stability and success.
​Addressing regional security concerns, Bugti criticized fringe militant groups attempting to drag the local population into a destructive struggle. He stressed that targeting critical infrastructure, trade routes, and commercial vehicles directly damages the livelihoods and economic well-being of the Baloch people themselves. He concluded by praying for the nation’s continued unity, dignity, and economic progress on the global stage.
