NOSHKI: A mother and her daughter were killed after unidentified armed men allegedly opened fire inside their home in Killi Mengal, Nushki district, police said.
The incident occurred late Friday night, during the intervening night of Friday and Saturday, according to police sources.
The victims were identified as Bibi Hanifa, wife of Ali Ahmed Muhammad Hasni, and her daughter Hafsa.
Police said the two women were the only people present in the house at the time of the incident. The attackers reportedly fled the area following the shooting.
Bibi Hanifa was employed at a private school, police said.
After receiving information about the incident, police shifted the victims to Mir Gul Khan Naseer Hospital, where the required legal and medical procedures were completed. The bodies were later handed over to the family.
Police officials said no formal application for registration of a case had been received from the family at the time of the initial investigation.
The SHO of Sadar Police Station is conducting further inquiries into the incident. Police have yet to establish the motive for the shooting or identify those responsible.
Authorities are continuing their investigation and are expected to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
