QUETTA: The Balochistan Commission of Inquiry, headed by Justice Muhammad Aamir Nawaz Rana, rejected the report submitted on behalf of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Balochistan regarding the Mangi Dam terrorist attack, declaring it non-compliant with the tribunal’s Terms of Reference (TORs).
​During an open court hearing on Monday, the commission noted that the report failed to address specific queries and lacked essential supporting documentation. Consequently, Justice Rana directed the IGP Balochistan to appear in person at the next hearing with a fresh, comprehensive report and all relevant departmental records. Advocate General Balochistan Abdul Latif Kakar was instructed to inform the police chief of the court’s order.
​The tribunal also extended the witness registration deadline from August 28 to September 3, 2026, after Naseem Ullah, brother of a martyred official, highlighted travel difficulties faced by families living in remote areas who wish to record statements and submit evidence.
​Legal representatives from Ziarat, Harnai, and Loralai offered voluntary legal assistance to help uncover the facts surrounding the attack. Meanwhile, the commission’s secretary confirmed that public notices regarding proceedings have been republished on the front pages of major national dailies alongside a DGPR awareness campaign.
​The commission adjourned proceedings until Thursday, August 27, 2026, at 1:00 PM.
