News Desk: Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti has ordered authorities to strengthen the Safe City surveillance system and accelerate the use of modern technology to prevent crime and improve security across the province.
Chairing a meeting to review the performance of the Balochistan Safe City Authority, Bugti directed officials to upgrade surveillance infrastructure in line with modern security requirements and strengthen technology-based crime prevention.
Officials briefed the meeting that the Safe City system had helped identify 138 stolen vehicles and detect nine suspicious activities, allowing law-enforcement agencies to prevent potential major terrorist attacks.
The authority has also provided police with 631 key pieces of evidence in connection with various criminal cases, the meeting was told.
The chief minister said the Balochistan Safe City Authority was playing an important role in maintaining law and order, preventing crime and protecting the lives and property of citizens.
He called for further technological improvements to enhance the capacity of law-enforcement agencies and make surveillance more effective.
Meanwhile, the Balochistan government has ordered enhanced security across the province on 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal. Security agencies and district administrations have been directed to ensure foolproof security arrangements during religious gatherings and processions.
