QUETTA: National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq visited the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Quetta, where he met Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, members of the provincial cabinet and opposition lawmakers.
The meeting focused on Balochistan’s development, public concerns and the province’s political situation. The leaders also discussed the importance of maintaining a healthy working relationship between the government and opposition.
During National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq’s visit to Quetta, internal sources within the Balochistan government revealed that discussions took place regarding a potential reshuffle of the provincial cabinet. Nominated by the PML-N to represent the party alongside the PPP’s designated representative, Mir Aijaz Jakhrani, Ayaz Sadiq engaged in high-level consultations aimed at evaluating the performance and portfolio allocations of current ministers
Speaking on the occasion, Ayaz Sadiq stressed that political differences are a natural part of democracy, but they should never undermine mutual respect. He said democratic institutions become stronger when political stakeholders listen to one another and keep the wider interests of the people in mind.
The National Assembly Speaker also appreciated the warm welcome extended to him in Quetta, saying that Balochistan is known for its traditions of hospitality, respect and brotherhood. He expressed hope that these traditions would continue to strengthen political understanding in the province.
Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti welcomed Ayaz Sadiq and reiterated the provincial government’s commitment to democratic values, political dialogue and cooperation for the betterment of Balochistan.
The visit comes at a time when greater political coordination and dialogue are being viewed as important for addressing the province’s challenges and moving forward on its development agenda.
