Muhammad Waseem: Balochistan Irrigation Minister Mir Muhammad Sadiq Umrani has assured farmers and residents of Naseerabad Division that effective measures will be taken to address water shortages, improve the irrigation system and ensure fair distribution of water across the agriculture-dependent region.
The minister made the remarks during a meeting with Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) senior leader and Naseerabad Division General Secretary Haji Niaz Ahmed Umrani at his Secretariat office in Quetta. Sardarzada Akhtar Jan Pindrani also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the water and irrigation situation in Naseerabad Division, challenges facing farmers, agricultural issues, problems of PPP workers, regional developments and party organizational matters.
Haji Niaz Ahmed Umrani highlighted the shortage of irrigation water and difficulties faced by the agriculture sector in Naseerabad Division. He also apprised the provincial minister of issues confronting party workers and called for immediate and effective action.
Sadiq Umrani assured the delegation that the government would extend all possible cooperation to address the problems. He said PPP workers are a valuable asset and a major source of strength for the party leadership, adding that their legitimate grievances would be addressed using available resources.
The provincial irrigation minister said the government would take practical steps to improve irrigation infrastructure and ensure equitable water supply in Naseerabad Division, given the area’s major role in agriculture.
He added that resolving the problems of farmers and local communities was among the government’s priorities and that the relevant authorities would be directed to take appropriate measures.
The meeting also emphasized strengthening the PPP organizational structure, maintaining closer contact with party workers and jointly working to resolve public issues across Naseerabad Division.
