QUETTA: The Balochistan Health Department has dismissed 25 Lady Medical Officers (LMOs) from government service over alleged deliberate and unauthorized absence from official duties.
According to a notification issued by Balochistan Health Secretary Mujeeb-ur-Rehman, disciplinary proceedings against the doctors were completed under the Balochistan Employees Efficiency and Discipline (BEDA) Act, 2011.
The notification stated that the doctors were dismissed for remaining absent from their assigned government duties without authorization.
The dismissal has been made effective immediately under Section 4(b)(vii) of the BEDA Act, according to the notification.
The dismissed Lady Medical Officers include doctors posted at Civil Hospital Quetta, Bolan Medical Complex Hospital (BMC) and various healthcare facilities in different districts of Balochistan.
The action comes amid efforts by the provincial Health Department to ensure attendance and accountability among government healthcare workers.
The department has taken disciplinary action against the doctors after completion of the relevant proceedings, with the dismissal order now taking immediate effect.
