Development of Balochistan top priority of government: Imran Khan

Prime Minister, Imran Khan on Friday said the development of Balochistan was top priority of his government. The premier arrived Quetta on a day visit and addressed members of the provincial cabinet. Federal Information Minister, Senator Shibli Faraz, Federal Minister Planning, Asad Umar, Zobaida Jalal and others also accompanied the Premier.

“We want to bring Balochistan at par with other parts of the country”, he said. The Prime Minister stated that the development of under-developed areas was the priority of the present government. For the first time, record funds allocated under the federal public sector development program for Balochistan, he added.

Governor Balochistan, Justice (R) Amanullah Khan Yaseenzai and Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan was also present on the occasion.

Balochistan covers half of the country in terms of area: PM 

Imran Khan said in the past tall claims made regarding the development of the province but practically rulers failed to translate their words into action. The Premier said Balochistan covers half of the country in terms of area and its development would open new vistas of development prosperity in the country.

The provincial government briefed the Prime Minister about the ongoing development projects and overall law and order in the province. He hailed the performance of law enforcement agencies for maintaining law and order situation. However, the cabinet members thanked the Prime Minister for the dualization of the Karachi-Chaman highway during the meeting.

“We are determined to develop all Balochistan especially its Southern parts”, Imran Khan said.

Asad Umar to visit Balochistan 

Federal Minister for Planning, Asad Omar will very soon visit Balochistan to supervise development projects. The Minister briefed the cabinet members that a coordination committee comprising all stakeholders already formed about development projects in Balochistan.
