TAFTAN: Pakistan has stepped up efforts to halt spread of deadly corona virus in the aftermath of confirmation of two cases in the country. In this connection, the Prime Minister’s adviser on health, Dr. Zafar Mirza reviewed arrangements at Pak-Iran border Taftan. Balochistan finance minister Zahoor Buledi, communication and works minister Mir Arif Jan Muhammad Hassani and other high level officials accompanied the federal adviser on health.

The federal adviser on health also met with Zaireen (Shia pilgrims) at Pakistan house Taftan. According to an official handout, the Zaireen agreed with officials that they would not insist on entering into Iran rather they would return to their homes.

The federal adviser on health Dr. Zafar Mirza on his return from Taftan also met with chief minister Jam Kamal Khan and briefed him about the arrangements at Taftan border. The chief minister assured that all out efforts would be made to halt the deadly virus and mentioned that so far no corona virus case was reported from Balochistan.

The Balochistan government has already established an isolation ward to tackle any emergency situation regarding corona virus. The secretary health Balochistan in a notification on Thursday cancelled all leaves, deputations and trainings of doctors and officials to get prepared for any emergency situation. Any doctor and official violating the government’s order would be dismissed from service, the notification said.
