COVID19 Vaccine to be free for citizens: Govt

ISLAMABAD: Parliamentary Secretary for National Health Services Regulations and Coordination (NHSRC) Dr Nausheen Hamid on Wednesday said the COVID19 vaccine would be free all citizens. “The Covid-19 vaccine, once procured, will be administered to citizens free of cost”, he said.
The vaccine would be made available to the people “once its efficacy is proved”. “The government will fund this [and] take on this responsibility so nobody will be burdened,” he had said.
This statement has come after the US-based company Moderna has produced a vaccine that is 94 percent effective against the coronavirus. First American would be provided the vaccine on December 11.
UK and Russia have also made an announcement for the provision of vaccines to their citizens soon.
