Mega Boxing event to be organized in Balochistan: Jam Kamal

QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan on Monday announced that a mega boxing event would be organized to promote sports in the province. World-fame boxer, Muhammad Waseem called on the Chief Minister. Senator Manzoor Kakar was also present on the occasion.

Speaking to the world-fame boxer, Jam Kamal said sportsmen are like ambassadors of the country and that his government was trying to encourage sportsmen to promote sports. The Chief Minister said all world-fame boxers from various countries would be invited to participate in the mega boxing event.

Boxing academy to be established in Quetta 

Jam Kamal also assured that a boxing academy would be established in Quetta to promote boxing.  Muhammad Waseem who belongs to Quetta has won boxing matches on an international level.

Waseem, who is now ranked ninth in the world in the World Boxing Council (WBC) Flyweight Rankings, has set his sights on breaking into the top five before he goes for the world title.

Muhammad Waseem had earlier complained that none from the government came to the airport to receive him after defeating world-fame boxers. However, the provincial government took notice of his complaint and now the officials continue to meet and encourage him for his contribution to the country and nation.
