GPE female teachers Balochistan to be issued orders: Secretary Education

QUETTA: Secretary Education Balochistan, Sher Khan Bazai on Friday said the government has decided to issue permanent appointment orders to over 1,400 female teachers of Global Partnership for Education (GPE). “We have initiated a summary for approval of appointments”, Mr. Bazai told Quetta Voice in an exclusive interview.
Over 1,400 female teachers have been protesting for the issuance of permanent orders for the last more than two weeks. The protesting teachers had ended their strike outside Quetta Press Club following an assurance by the Balochistan education minister, Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind.

Over 1,400 female teachers recruited through a testing service under the GPE project during 2015. Under the agreement, the Balochistan government had agreed to make around 1,000 girls’ schools functional and regularize the teachers.
However, currently, the government had stopped payment of salaries to the protesting teachers. “We will issue them orders within a week”, Sher Khan Bazai mentioned. He said the minister of education has already assured and that the final summary for appointment would be approved by the Chief Minister Balochistan.
Female teachers be issued orders soon: Sardar Rind
“Government needs female teachers and I assure you that we will issue your orders”, Sardar Rind told the protesting teachers outside Quetta Press Club. Apart from this, the process of appointment orders of over 9,000 teachers in Balochistan under CTSP is also in the final stage.
The education department has issued appointment orders to over two dozen districts in Balochistan for teaching and non-teaching staff. “We will gradually overcome the issue of shortage of teachers”, the Secretary of education Balochistan stated.
