Rulers’ days numbered: PDM Chief

Chief of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), Maulana Fazal ur Rehman on Tuesday said rulers’ days numbered as masses rejected them. Speaking to reporters at Quetta airport, he said, “the political battle entered final stage and rulers will have to go”.

The Chief of the 11-party anti-government alliance arrived in Quetta to address the opposition rally in Loralai, a northern city of Balochistan. Former prime minister, Syed Yousaf Raza Gailani, PML N leader Ahsan Iqbal, Mehmood Khan Achakzai and other leaders would also address the rally.

“Masses rejected selected rulers”, Maulana Fazal ur Rehman said. He said the anti-government alliance was representing the masses of the country who stand by the constitution and rule of law.

When asked about interior minister Sheikh Rasheed‘s warning, Maulana said, “media should ask a serious question”. All arrangements have been finalized in Balochistan’s Loralai city about the PDM public meeting. Workers of component parties of PDM have established a stage and colored the city with flags of allies parties to welcome their leaders. Security has also been tightened in Loralai to ensure peace on the eve of public meetings.

Maulana condemned Mach tragedy

Maulana Fazal ur Rehman also condemned the Mach tragedy and termed it a failure on the part of the government. “They claim that terrorism has been eliminated then how Mach incident took place”, he questioned. He said incidents of targeted killings were also going on in the tribal belt of the country. Had there been an implementation of the National Action Plan, such incidents would have not happened, the PDM Chief noted.

A large number of workers of Jamiat ul Ulema e Islam (JUI) received Maulana Fazal ur Rehman at the airport. They also chanted slogans against the government and demanded the resignation of prime minister Imran Khan.
