Levies foil major terror bid in Kohlu

Levies force on Monday morning foiled a major terror bid by seizing weapons and ammunition in Balochistan’s Kohlu district. Acting on an intelligence report, Levies personnel conducted a raid at the Pazha area of Kohlu district.

The miscreants had dumped weapons inside a hole in the Pazha area of Kohlu, the Deputy Commissioner Kohlu, Mumtaz Khetran told a news conference. Miscreants were trying to carry out a major terrorist activity in Balochistan. “Timely information helped levies to foil the terror act”, he said.

The weapons include RPG 7 guns, anti-person mines, mortar shells, explosive materials, and other weapons during the search operation. “Indian made weapons recovered during the operation”, Mr.  Khetran informed.

Security forces had informed Kohlu Levies that a terrorist coming from Harnai was planning to carry out subversive activities. This prompted the levies to conduct timely search operations and foil the terror act.
