Protesting employees demand 15bs rupees extra: CM Balochistan

QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan on Monday said protesting employees were demanding Rs. 15bs extra from the national exchequer. The CM took to social media network Twitter and put some questions, “If masses of Balochistan satisfied with the performance of employees, then, it is the success of government”.
Jam Kamal’s statement has come after government employees blocked the main road leading towards Governor’s house and CM Secretariat. The city witnessed the worst traffic jam as a result of the protest by government employees.
Masses of Balochistan complaining about government employees
People of Balochistan have been complaining about government employees. He mentioned that the protest is not for few employees rather they are demanding an increase for 2,00,000 employees.
Government paying Rs. 40bs to employees at per annum
The Balochistan government is paying Rs. 40bs on account of pension and salaries to the employees in the province. “The province cannot afford an increase in the salaries”, finance minister Zahoor Buledi said.
Chief Minister Balochistan also stated that the governments may take loans in the future to pay salaries of government employees in future. If the government accepts the demand, then, everyone would come out and block roads to mount pressure on the government, he said.
Security tightened
The government has placed police on a high alert to maintain the law and order situation in the city. The administration has put containers, barbed wires to stop the protesters from the protest outside the CM and Governor’s houses.
Baton-wielding policemen deployed
Bato-wielding policemen deployed at the road leading towards the Red Zone. Despite repeated requests by the government ministers, the protesting employees refused to end the protest. The protest is underway till the filling of this report. The government has also imposed a ban on pillion riding on Monday.
