COVID19: Educational institutions not to be closed in Balochistan

The Balochistan government has decided not to close educational institutions after the outbreak of the third wave of COVID19. Balochistan education minister, Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind and adviser to the Chief Minister on Health, Dr. Rubaba Buledi agreed to keep the schools open.
“Situation in Balochistan in terms of coronavirus is not very serious”, Sardar Rind said. Educational institutions will remain closed after consultation with the health department of Balochistan, the minister informed.
Closure of schools result in wasting precious time of students
Closure of schools and other educational institutions has resulted in wasting the precious time of students, he mentioned. “SOPs will be strictly implemented to contain the virus”, Sardar Rind said after meeting with the health adviser.
Health and education departments have improved coordination to contain the deadly virus in educational institutions. “We cannot afford closure of schools again”, Dr. Rubaba Buledi mentioned.
UNICEF supports students in Balochistan
UNICEF has facilitated over 1,65,000 students in Balochistan. UNICEF also provided sanitizers, masks, and other protective equipment to battle the novel coronavirus in the province. The Balochistan government has also formed committees on the district level to provide basic facilities to students to battle the COVID19. The concerned deputy commissioners have been entrusted the task to ensure implementation of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to fight against the COVID19.
