Protesting teachers announce boycott of Matric examinations in Balochistan

Protesting teachers have announced to boycott the annual Matric examinations across Balochistan. “The Grand Employee Alliance (GEA) has decided to boycott exam duties”, Habib ur Rehman Mardanzai, the leader of the Government Teachers Association said.
The metric examinations would be commenced from April 9 across Balochistan.

1,26,000 students to appear in the exam

A total of 1,26,000 male and female students would appear in the examination, Shaukat Ali Sarpara, the controller of Balochistan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BBISE) told daily Quetta Voice.
There was no immediate reaction from the government about the boycott announcement made by protesting teachers.

Polio campaign also postponed due to employees strike 
The anti-Polio campaign in Balochistan postponed for the third time on Tuesday. The campaign postponed because of protest by government employees in Balochistan, an official of the health department said. Earlier, the government had announced to launch the stalled campaign on April 7 in Quetta and other 34 districts of Balochistan.
