QUETTA: The Balochistan government has decided to recruit over 1200 information technology teachers to make sure provision of quality and modern education to students across the province. The teachers would be appointed through Balochistan Public Service Commission (BPSC) in grade-17 after framing service rules for them, Secretary Secondary Education, Ghullam Ali Baloch told Quetta Voice on Tuesday.
The decision has been made by the department in line with the vision and guidelines of Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan and education minister, Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind in view of growing need of information technology knowledge for the students of the province to meet modern challenges. The candidates must be Bachelor in Computer Science from a recognized university.
“The teachers would be posted in all 1200 high schools in the province to teach IT education to students”, Mr. Baloch said. He however said service rules were being submitted to the services and general administration department for the IT teachers.
Balochistan is legging behind all other provinces in terms education and information technology. This was one of the underlying reasons for appointment of 1200 IT teachers to enable students of Balochistan to compete on national and international level, the Secretary Education mentioned. The posts of teachers would be filled after approval of service rules by the competent authority by BPSC through competitive examination, Mr. Baloch said.
The BPSC has already completed tests for Senior Science Teaches (B-17) general and science for their recruitment in education department. Interviews for the candidates who qualified written tests were also being conducted by the BPSC.
