The novel coronavirus cases have been confirmed in 20 districts of Balochistan on Thursday. The virus continues to spread fast as it spreads across the globe. The Corona Cell Balochistan confirmed cases of Covid-19 for the first time from the resource-rich Dera Bugti, Zhob, Musakhail and Kohlu districts of the province.

Quetta, the provincial capital of Balochistan has been hit hard by the deadly virus. Up till now, 1,875 cases of the novel coronavirus have been confirmed in Quetta, whereas, Pishin, Killa Abdullah, Jaffarabad and Mastung have also been hit hard by the virus. “The virus has claimed 30 lives so far”, Waseem Baig, the Spokesman Corona Cell Balochistan told daily Quetta Voice.

90 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Pishin, 46 Killa Abdullah, 25 Mastung, 27 Jaffarabad. There is frequent movement of people from Pishin to Quetta and this is the reason behind the increasing number of patients, Dr. Shireen Khan, Quetta’s well-known chest physician told daily Quetta Voice. Dr. Khan has been treating covid19 patients since the outbreak of the deadly virus in the province.

“We are trying to improve testing capacity”, Liaquat Shahwani, the Spokesman government of Balochistan said. Mr. Shahwani said the government plans to conduct 50,000 tests to make sure maximum tests and diagnosis of patients.

Balochistan has so far reported 2,457 cases of novel coronavirus cases.
