CHAMAN: Various political parties on Thursday demanded of the federal government to open Pak-Afghan border Chaman in view of difficulties faced by masses. Addressing a press conference, Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP) leader, Salahuddin Achakzai demanded of the government to make sure opening of the border keeping in view difficulties of the traders and the business community.
Border with neighboring Afghanistan was closed by the federal government in the wake of the outbreak of novel coronavirus. The step was taken by the government to contain the novel coronavirus.
“Border should be opened, otherwise, we will opt for tough protests”, Mr. Achakzai warned.
Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) central leader and former provincial minister, captain (R) Abdul Khaliq Achakzai also demanded of the government to open the border to address the grievances and issues faced by the masses. “I will take up this issue with chief minister Balochistan as well”, he assured the traders at a press conference on Thursday.
JUI (F) Chaman has also demanded of the government to ensure immediate resumption of trader activities at the border to address the issues of the traders community. Maulavi Ghousullah, the central leader of JUI (F) said the closure of the border has severely affected trader activities at the border.
