Officials of the health department conducted raids against non-registered medical clinics, medical stores and quakes in various parts of Quetta on Monday. Chief of the special committee on health, Dr. Naseem Katkezai and other officials conducted raids in Ghousabad, Sariab road, satellite town and other areas of the city.

Medical stores were sealed by drug control authority under 1976 drug act in the Ghousabad area. Medical clinics were sealed on deteriorating cleanliness in Satellite town area of Quetta, an official hand out released by the health department said, mentioning no other details. The number of medical stores, clinics sealed was not immediately known.

In Quetta and other parts of Balochistan, hundreds of quakes have been operating and running medical clinics without any official check. However, the sale of fake medicines in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan is also common.

Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan has directed the health department to step up efforts against the elements operating clinics and medical stores without any legal documents.
