A 10-year old minor girl kidnapped in Balochistan’s Dera Bugti district was recovered and produced before the Supreme Court Quetta Registry. The Court conducted the kidnapping case hearing through a video link.

Ayaz Zahoor, the counsel for Senator Sarfaraz Bugti appeared before the Supreme Court bench headed by the Chief Justice SC, Justice Gulzar Ahmed. The counsel for Mr. Bugti informed the court that the minor girl has been handed over to her grandmother.

The court asked why the accused Senator Sarfaraz Bugti has failed to appear before the court. Bugti’s counsel informed the apex court that his client was unable to reach the court owing to the worst traffic jam in Quetta.

The grandmother of the minor girl during the hearing thanked Balochistan Police Chief and other policemen for playing their effective role in the recovery of the minor girl.

On December 8, 2019, a case of the abduction of a girl was registered against the former Balochistan home minister at the Quetta Bijli Ghar police station on the complaint of a woman. The FIR stated that on December 7, the woman had taken her 10-year-old granddaughter Maria to the family court in Quetta to be reunited with her father Tawakal Ali Bugti, but Maria’s father abducted her from outside the court.

She said her daughter Sehrish Bibi was killed in 2013 after which the court had entrusted her with Maria. Addressing a press conference after the recovery of the minor girl, Senator Sarfaraz Bugti said that media dragged him in the case. He said he had no link with the kidnapping of the minor girl.
