Lawyers observed boycott of courts across Balochistan in protest over attack at a senior lawyer in Quetta. Supreme Court lawyer, Asghar Panezai was injured in an attack in Quetta’s Jinnah road area.

Balochistan Bar Council (BBC), Balochistan High Court Bar Association (BHCBA) and Quetta Bar Association (QBA) had given call of strike to mount pressure on the government to arrest the accused involved in the attack.

“We demand immediate arrest of culprits involved in the attack”, Asif Reki Advocate, the President QBA told the daily Quetta Voice.
No lawyer appeared before the court during the strike. Clients suffered difficulties as result of lawyers strike.
“Protecting members of legal fraternity is the core responsibility of government”, Ishaq Nasar advocate, a well-known lawyer told the daily Quetta Voice.
The injured lawyer was shifted to Trauma Centre Civil Hospital Quetta for medical treatment. The condition of the lawyer is stated to be serious.
“Attacks at lawyers is order of the day, we want protection”, Munir Khan Kakar, the Vice Chairman BBC said.
Lawyers have also announced boycott of courts tomorrow to protest against the attack at lawyer.
