Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi left for a two-day visit to China to attend the Pakistan-China foreign ministers’ strategic dialogue on Thursday. This is considered to be an important visit following the unfolding regional and international situation.

Mr. Qureshi in a video message released prior to leaving for China said, “this is a very important visit” and he had a discussion with Prime Minister Imran Khan in this regard. “I am leaving on a very important visit to China. I had a discussion with the prime minister regarding this visit yesterday. My delegation will represent the stance of the political and military leadership of the country. I am hopeful that my meeting with Foreign Minister Wang Yi will prove to be beneficial for both countries,” the foreign minister said.

The visit will further strengthen the already strong relations between Pakistan and China. During the visit, high-level officials of Pakistan also accompany the foreign ministers. A number of issues relating to security, coronavirus, trade and bilateral relations would be discussed between the two countries.
