The Balochistan government has declared 17 districts sensitive during Muharram ul Haram to make sure peace in the province. This was revealed by the Spokesman government of Balochistan, Liaquat Shahwani while addressing a  press conference on Saturday.

Mr. Shahwani stated that strict security measures were adopted by the administration to avoid the occurrence of any untoward incident during the sacred month of Muharram. He said the sensitive districts include Quetta, Sibi, Naseerabad, Jaffarabad, Jhal Magsi, Loralai and other districts of the province.

The Spokesman stated that special security plan was devised for Quetta city during Muharram. He said additional 3,700 policemen would be deployed in Quetta city from 1st to 5th Muharram under the plan.

There would be Majalis in 104 Imam Bargahs and 48 of them have been declared sensitive. Regarding the novel coronavirus, Mr. Shahwani said that health desks have been established close to Imam Bargahs to make sure standard operating procedures regarding the deadly virus. He said organizers have been directed to strictly follow SOPs and social distancing during worship.

To a question, Mr. Shahwani said that no religious scholar would be allowed to deliver any hateful speech.
