BAP leader Siraj Raisani

BAP leader Mir Siraj Raisani lost his life along with more than 100 people at an election rally on July 13th, 2018 in the Daringarh area of Mastung district. Late Raisani was contesting the provincial assembly election when targeted during the rally. Siraj Raisani was the younger brother of former chief minister Balochistan, Nawab Muhammad Aslam Raisani.

The Islamic State had claimed the responsibility for the attack.

Mastung

Mastung is considered to be one of the sensitive districts of Balochistan. Militants in the past have carried out attacks against security forces and targeted Shia pilgrims on their way to Iran. Since then, security has been tightened in and around Mastung to avert any untoward incident in the area.
