Balochistan Forest Wildlife officials seize falcons

Balochistan Forest Wildlife officials have seized two expensive falcons worth millions of rupees at Quetta international airport. The Wildlife and forest department desk at the airport seized two expensive falcons from a passenger.

The customs and wildlife officials recovered two expensive falcons from a passenger identified as Laal Shah. The accused was about to leave for Dubai when intercepted by the officials. The Conservator Forest Niaz Khan Kakar, deputy conservator Fawad Siddiqui had directed the concerned officials to ensure strict checking of the passengers to foil the smuggling bid.

“Smuggling bid of expensive falcons foiled today”, Mr. Kakar told Quetta Voice. Falcons also registered with Quetta customs and medical check-ups would be conducted tomorrow. Seized falcons would be presented before the magistrate tomorrow after the medical check-up, he added.

Members of Arab royal families also visit various parts of Balochistan for the hunting of expensive falcons and houbara bustard. The smugglers also use illegal means to shift expensive falcons to the Middle East via air and sea.
