Levies seize huge catch of arms ammunition in Kohlu Balochistan

Levies Force on Friday seized a huge catche of arms and ammunition in Balochistan’s Kohlu district. Mumtaz Khetran, the Deputy Commissioner Kohlu said a major terrorism bid has been foiled in the area. He was addressing a press conference. Senior levies officials were also present on the occasion.

Levies acted on an intelligence report that miscreants had dumped weapons in the Soraf area of Kahan tehsil of the district. The seized weapons include an anti-aircraft gun, RPG-7, 11 bombs, rounds, etc. “Explosive materials are also included in the seized weapons”, Mr. Khetran stated.

Terrorists had dumped weapons to carry out terror acts

The action has come by security forces after the miscreants had attacked a check post in the area. There was no human loss as a result of a terrorist attack, he added. The terrorists had dumped the weapons to carry out subversive activities in Kohlu and other parts of Balochistan, the Deputy Commissioner said.

Especially, the terrorists wanted to target development works in the area, he mentioned. Bomb disposal squad called in the area to defuse bombs and other weapons seized by levies force.

Levies force has intensified operations against miscreants in Kohlu district. Earlier, the force had also foiled major terrorism bid by seizing huge catch of arms and ammunition in the area.

Security tightened in Kohlu

The Deputy Commissioner praised the Levies personnel for foiling the terror bid. Security has been tightened in and around Kohlu district after the recovery of a huge catche of arms and ammunition. “Levies force stands alert to battle terrorists”, Mumtaz Khetran said. In the past, miscreants in the area used to target security forces, civilians, and vital national installations. However, peace has returned to the district after sacrifices by the security forces.
