Talks between federal ministers, Hazara community fail

Talks between federal ministers and members of the ethnic Shia Hazara community failed. The enraged community has refused to bury the dead bodies till the arrival of Prime Minister Imran Khan. Ali Zaidi, the federal minister made repeated requests to the protesters to end the sit-in. However, the Hazara community refused to do so. For the fourth consecutive day, the Hazara community has continued its protest to mourn the killing of 11 coal miners in Balochistan’s Mach area.

Federal minister Ali Zaidi, special assistant to Prime Minister, Zulfi Bukhari, deputy speaker national assembly, Qasim Suri held prolonged negotiations with protesting Hazara community members.

Federal Minister, Ali Zaidi said foreign elements were behind the prevailing unrest in Balochistan. The visiting official delegation demanded of the members of the Hazara community to end the protest. Syed Raza Agha, the former Balochistan minister, and other Shia religious scholars briefed the federal ministers about the recent tragic incident that claimed the lives of coal miners.

“Our soldiers martyred a few days back in Balochistan”, Ali Zaidi 

“You know a few days back our soldiers were martyred”, Ali Zaidi told the protesters. He demanded of the protesters to first bury the martyred of the Mach tragedy. There is no ambiguity, it is crystal clear that foreign elements are involved in acts of terrorism, Ali Zaidi said.

Zulfi Bukhari also assured that Prime Minister Imran Khan would visit the broken family and he will come here. “We are fighting against the common enemy”, Mr. Bukhari said. He said none would be spared and that the perpetrators of the attack would be brought to justice.

Hazara community has suffered the worst type of sectarian terrorist attacks in Quetta. They are demanding of the government to take concrete steps for the protection community.
