Quetta: Hazara community agrees to burial of slain miners

Quetta’s Hazara community has agreed to the burial of slain coal miners after successful negotiations with chief minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan. The CM reached the Western Bypass area of Quetta where the members of the Hazara community had been staging a sit-in for the last six days. Agha Raza, the former Balochistan minister representing the Hazara community announced the success of talks with the government about the burial.

“I apologize on the part of the government”, Jam Kamal 

“I apologize on the part of the government”, Jam Kamal said. He said, “your demands accepted by the government”. He said Prime Minister, Imran Khan and Chief of Army Staff will also be coming to meet the families of the martyrs.

“Negotiations succeded between government and members of Hazara community”, Ali Zaidi, the federal minister announced.  Provincial ministers are accompanying the Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan. Chief Minister would convince the protesting community to end the sit-in.

Slain minors to be buried in the morning 

The 14-member committee of the Hazara sit-in committee announced the burial of the slain miners on Saturday morning. “The burial will start at 10 am in the morning”, Agha Raza, the committee member said.

This is the chief minister’s second visit to the sit-in. The Hazara community had been protesting against the brutal murder of 11 coal miners in Balochistan’s Mach area.

“The Chief Minister said he would contact the Prime Minister for his arrival to Quetta to end the sit-in”, Liaquat Shahwani, the Spokesman government of Balochistan told Quetta Voice. He said, “a breakthrough is expected”.

Sources said that Prime Minister, Imran Khan also expected to visit Quetta anytime soon. “I confirm the Premier is going to visit Quetta anytime”, the Spokesman Balochistan government informed. He said the Chief Minister and provincial ministers are trying to convince the protesting Hazara community to end the sit-in.
