South Waziristan: four soldiers martyred

Four soldiers martyred when terrorists attacked a security forces check post in South Waziristan on Friday morning, the military’s media wing said.

Security forces promptly responded and killed four of the attackers in the Makeen district, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

The martyred were identified by the military’s media wing as Lance Naik Imran Ali, Sepoy Atif Jahangir, Sepoy Anees ur Rehman and Sepoy Aziz.

A clearance operation in the area is in progress, added the military’s media wing.

Earlier on Friday, a five-year-old minor was martyred and seven other children, including a girl, sustained injuries after a group of terrorists based in Afghanistan fired rockets at the civilian population in Bajaur district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

The Pakistan Army and other law enforcement agencies rushed to the affected area and launched search and rescue operations to help the victims.
