Zubaida Jalal inaugurates Mand Pishin crossing point with Iran

Federal Minister for Defense Production, Zubaida Jalal inaugurated the Mand-Pishin crossing point at the Pak-Iran border on Wednesday. Iranian minister for urban development, Muhammad Islami, and other high-level government officials were also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Zubaida Jalal stated that the new crossing point at Mand-Pishin would boost bilateral trade and business activities between the two countries. Within a short span of six months’ time, two crossing points inaugurated at the Pak-Iran border, she mentioned.

New crossing point to open new vistas of development and prosperity 

Zubaida Jalal said the inauguration of the new crossing point would open new vistas of development and prosperity in the area. This would also create new job opportunities for the people living on both sides of the border, she mentioned.

The Federal  Minister had also inaugurated Gabad’s crossing point with Iran at Gwadar in December 2020.

Pakistan shares a 900km border with Iran 

Pakistan shares over 900km long border with neighboring Iran in the South and West. Pakistan is also fencing off the border with Iran to stop illegal movement and smuggling.

Most of the work on over 900km long border has been completed, a security official said. He declined to be named. Pakistan has also tightened security at the border with Iran recently.

The two countries have also established a  joint border commission that reviews matters relating to the border after every quarter.
