Pashtoon culture day observed in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan

Pashtoon culture day was observed in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan on Thursday. Political parties, students organizations organized cultural programs to promote Pashtoon culture and traditions in the country.

In Quetta, functions were organized at Fatima Jinnah Park, Metropolitan Corporation, University of Balochistan, Pashto Academy to mark the day. Youngsters danced on the beat of drums. “This day reminds us of our language and culture”, Naseebullah Khan, a student dancing on the beat of drum stated.

Most of the youngsters were wearing traditional Pashtoon turbans to mark the day. The people also posted photos wearing traditional Pashtoon turbans on Facebook and Twitter to mark the day.

Cultural events were also organized in other cities 

“Pashtoons have thousands of years old culture”, Muhammad Khan, another man dancing on the beat of drum said. Cultural events were also organized at Loralai, Pishin, Zhob, and other parts of Balochistan to mark the Pashtoon culture day.

A few years back, an international seminar of Pashto poets, writers, authors, and intellectuals in Quetta had announced observing 23rd September as Pashtoon culture day across the globe. Since then, the day is observed in Quetta, Peshawar, and other parts of the globe by Pashtoons.
