JUI not to be part BAP government in Balochistan: Maulana Fazal

Chief of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), Maulana Fazal ur Rehman on Wednesday made it clear that his party would not be part of the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) future government in Balochistan. Maulana Ghafoor Hyderi and other party leaders were also present on the occasion.
Speaking at a news conference in Islamabad, the Maulana said that Jamiat ul Ulema e Islam (F) would not be part of BAP led coalition government in Balochistan. Maulana’s comments have come days after Jam Kamal Khan resigned as the Chief Minister of the province.
The religious party had supported Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo against Jam Kamal Khan. JUI F has 11 lawmakers in the house of 65 in the Balochistan Assembly. It is the second-largest parliamentary group in Balochistan Assembly.
BNP M is yet to make a decision in this regard
However, another key opposition party, the Balochistan National Party (Mengal) is yet to make a decision in this regard. BNP Chief Sardar Akhtar Mengal had addressed the party’s high command in Quetta through a video link from Dubai regarding the Balochistan government issue. So far, no decision has been made in this regard and consultations are underway, Akhtar Hussain Langove, the BNP member provincial assembly in Balochistan Assembly told Quetta Voice.
Balochistan Assembly session convenes on October 29
Governor Balochistan, Syed Zahoor Agha has convened the session of the provincial assembly on October 29 at 10 am in the morning. During the session, the election of the leader of the house would be conducted.
The governor has convened the session after his meeting with BAP’s nominated candidate for the slot of CM ship, Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo. The ruling party nominated its candidate for leader of the house after the resignation of Jam Kamal Khan as the CM of Balochistan.
Nomination papers for CM
Balochistan Assembly secretariat has issued a notification and said that nomination papers for the slot of CM can be submitted tomorrow (October 28). There seems to be no competition over the post since the BAP enjoys the support of the majority of the lawmakers in the provincial assembly.
