Forensic report about Quetta videos scandal expected within a week

QUETTA: Forensic report from the Punjab laboratory about the Quetta girls videos scandal is expected within a week. “We will proceed with the case as per the Punjab forensic laboratory report”, a senior police officer told Quetta Voice. He requested anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter.

Police in Quetta had arrested two people including Hidayat Khilji for allegedly raping and filming girls in the city. The scandal has caused anger among the people and they demanded of the government to award exemplary punishment to the accused. People are also skeptical about the authorities that the accused may not evade justice. However, police said they are determined to file a case based on solid evidence against the accused.

“No political pressure, the investigation is smoothly going on”, the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) police Quetta, Syed Fida Hassan Shah said. Mr. Shah said raids were being conducted to apprehend the third accused nominated in the case.

Quetta police had shared a laptop, two mobiles, a tab with Punjab forensic laboratory for investigation. So far, the laboratory has not sent its report to the Balochistan police, the police officer said.

Hazara women also march against the scandal

Members of civil society and Hazara community women had marched against Hidayat Khilji for allegedly raping and filming the girls in Quetta. They had lashed out at the government for its failure to stop such kinds of activities in the city.

Activists on social media also had run a campaign against Hidayat Khiliji and it was one of the top trends on social media networks i.e. Twitter. Human and women rights activists also staged a protest demonstration in Islamabad against the Quetta girls videos scandal.
