Sadiq Umrani’s case cannot be heard in NAB court: Judge

An Accountability Court in Quetta has ordered the removal of a case against Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Mir Sadiq Umrani on Wednesday. This case cannot be heard in the Accountability Court against the former PPP minister, the court-ordered. If the authorities have any complaint against Mr.Umrani, they can file a case in the ordinary court/ session court.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had filed a reference against the PPP leader in an alleged allotment case at Dera Murad Jamali in 2020. Mr. Umrani had denied the charges and contradicted the allotment.

Senior lawyer, Ishaq Khan Nasar appeared as a counsel for the PPP leader. Judge of the Accountability Court, Aftab Ahmed Lone in a short order removed the case and said the case was not under the jurisdiction of NAB.
